Annual Renewal of Registration
For existing youth and adult members of Troop 55, registration is renewed in Oct-Nov of each year by doing the following:
1. Payment of annual dues.
The dues for youth membership for 2022-2023 are $230 and can be paid at the T-54 Store at this
link.
In addition to troop operating expenses, this fee covers the BSA registration fee (which T-54 will pay to BSA).
This fee also covers the registration fee for one parent if that adult wishes to be a registered BSA leader.
If a second parent wants to also be a registered BSA leader, there is an additional $50 fee.
Scholarships: Parents of Scouts in need of financial assistance may contact either the Troop Committee Chair (Alan Clark) or the Scoutmaster (Eric Lokker) to discuss needs. More information is contained in the Troop Handbook at this link.
2. Update BSA Medical Form.
Complete and print the appropriate BSA medical form below and deliver to George Ho,
Troop 54's Medical Officer, at 6227 Sutherland Sq, Houston TX 77081.
If insurance or immunizations have changed, also provide that info the troop's medical officer.
Click here to download the MEDICAL FORM with Parts A, B1 and B2 only(PDF, 3 pages). Parts A, B1 and B2 do not require a doctor's exam.
Click here to download the MEDICAL FORM with Parts A, B1, B2 and C (PDF, 4 pages). Part C of this form does require a doctor's exam. Part C is needed prior to summer camp, any high-adventure activity, or various other activities as described on the form. There is a separate risk advisory document for several of BSA's high adventure camps. That risk advisory is for review only and does not need to be submitted to T-54 along with Parts A, B and C.
3. Youth Protections Training -- Adults Only
Adult leaders are required to complete YPT prior to becoming a registered leader, and must renew this
training every second year.
The troop cannot renew the registration of any leader if that leader is not current on YPT.
